Several local businesses in the North East are offering their help to charity Cash for Kids and their coat appeal.

The annual appeal seeks to provide local children with warm jackets throughout the winter months - and demand is expected to be even higher this year.

Some venues have given customers the option to add a £1 on to their bill, with the proceeds going directly to the charity.

The Pigs Wings on Upperkirkgate have taken that a step further, matching any donation made by their customers.

Marcos Sasso is one of the owners, he said:

"I'll be the first to admit, I didn't know how many children in Aberdeen and shire reach out to cash for kids"

"We are delighted to help out with this year's coat appeal."

"Over the next few months we are looking to raise as much as we can to make sure no children go without warm winter clothes this year."

"We are encouraging any and all businesses to jump on board to help this fantastic cause."
