Businesses, Cash For Kids and Northsound listeners have helped the family of Julie and Lucas Walker.
A North East family struck by tragedy over the summer say they've been left "speechless" at the offers of help they've received following their loss.
Julie Walker, 37, and her 6-year-old son Lucas died in hospital after an afternoon trip to Aberdeen beach ended in the family getting into difficult.
They were pulled from the water along with 14-year-old Samuel Walker, who survived.
Yesterday we heard from Samuel and his grandmother Lynne Dawson who gave their first interview since
Samuel and older brother Jordan Walker are now living with after moving out of their home in Aberdeen.
Mrs Dawson told Northsound News exclusively that her two children had moved out of their rooms in the family home, so that Julie's children could stay with their grandparents.
Following the tragedy, the six family members were living in a three bedroom house.
However, Northsound News can reveal that that as well as over £12,000 pounds being raised to help the family's financial stress, their home has been transformed.
Local homebuilders CALA homes have converted their home to create two new bedrooms.
All of the contractors who chose to offer their services did the work for no financial gain.
Managing Director of CALA Homes North, Mike Naysmith, says everybody wanted to help when they heard the Walker family's story.
Lynne Dawson, mother to Julie and grandmother to Lucas, said they can't offer enough thanks to those who helped.
As well as CALA Homes, Cash For Kids and the Northsound listeners - the family have extended their thanks to several other businesses.
The Marcliffe Hotel, for offering them rooms to stay in while work was being carried out on their home free of charge.
Glencraft Ltd, for offering mattresses to the family for the new rooms and to Sainsburys for assisting with furniture.
