LISTEN: Stonehaven Man To Follow In Shackleton's Steps And Cross Antarctica
Stonehaven man, Charlie Paton, is to be part of a group that will follow in famous explorer Shakleton's footstepps, by trekking across Antarctica.
Famously, 100 years ago, in 1915, Ernest Shackleton and a grouop of men set off on the mission, but failed when their ship the 'Endurance' became trapped in the ice, and ten months later sank.
Now this group will set off next month, to trek 1,800 miles in just 100 days.
Our reporter Phil McDonald sat down with Charlie Paton, to discuss the deadly challenge.
