The team were live from Dens Park ahead of Dundee v Aberdeen on Friday evening.

There was only one topic to talk about before previewing the game, the headline the majority of fans didn’t expect to be reading the day before.

Derek McInnes and Tony Docherty will stay with Aberdeen after saying no to Rangers.

Listen to the team reacting to the news and hear from the man who divided Twitter by insisting McInnes was going to Rangers >>>

Derek McInnes said in the statement on Thursday “I’ve had a lot to consider over the last couple of days and I appreciate it’s been a testing time for everyone, including my family, and I’m pleased to be now totally focusing on purely on on-the-field matters."

He declined to comment on the statement that Rangers released ''No comment on that,'' he said. ''No comment. It's up to others to comment on that' when asked after the teams win over Dundee.

"I'll leave Twitter if Andrew unblocks me" Ewen Cameron

One man convinced McInnes would go was our very own Ewen Cameron who appeared on the show to face up to his Twitter boasts. You can hear Ewen in the audio file above.

Ewen first Tweeted his belief that Rangers would appoint the Dons boss as their new manager at the beginning of November.

Weeks of winding up the Red Army stopped on Thursday when it was announced McInnes would stay.

...and we finally have a definitive answer to the question the Red Army has been asking.

Responding to the question of leaving Twitter on the show Ewen Said "I'll leave Twitter if Andrew unblocks me"

Ewen had earlier revealed that Red Friday presenter Andrew Shinie blocked him on the social network after his boasts.

Northsound 1 Red Friday returns next week ahead of the Saturday lunchtime trip to Easter Road.

North-east football statistician Andrew Shinie and reporter Dave Galloway join Dave Macdermid to talk everything Aberdeen FC.
