LISTEN: Petition Calling For Closure Of Aberdeen Legal Highs Store Submitted

Published 23rd Oct 2015

A petition calling for the immediate closure of one of Aberdeen's most notorious legal highs stores, has been submitted to Aberdeen City Council.

The petition, was created by ACT Aberdeen, formally known as the Arts Centre, who sit directly opposite the store and see the effects of it everyday.

It gained over 800 signatures and calls for the closure of 'Harminasion' on King Street.

Legal highs have been a topical issue in Aberdeen, with the dangerous substances sending atleast one Aberdonian to A&E at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary a day.

A poll conducted by Northsound News also found that 1 in 4 of our listeners had tried the drugs.

Our reporter Hope Webb spoke to Councillor Ross Thomson, who has worked alongside ACT Aberdeen, to try and close this store.
