LISTEN: Is "Lad Culture" To Blame For A Rise In Rapes In Aberdeen?
A rising number of rapes in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire is being partly blamed on the growth of "lad culture".
Since 2012, the number of referrals to the Aberdeen Rape and Abuse Centre has risen by 46%.
The centre works with survivors over a period of weeks, providing counselling and support.
But Manager of the centre, Jan Melia, says the rise is partly down to the rise of "lad culture" amongst young people and students in the North East.
