LISTEN: Did Fear Cause Offshore Caterers To Vote Against Strikes?

It's claimed fear caused the low turnout and a NO vote for strikes amongst offshore catering staff.

Yesterday caterers under the RMT narrowly voted against striking (49%), but they did support action short of a strike (60%).

Last week, members of Unite the Union voted to support strike action.

It's all after companies under COTA decided to scrap a two year pay deal, that had been promised upon.

Now, Jake Molloy, Regional Officer for the RMT, says the fear of redundancy or repercussions, stops many cateters from speaking out.
