Aberdeen Chairman Stewart Milne says he's "a very happy man - just like the rest of the fans" after Derek McInnes confirmed he's choosing the Dons over Sunderland.

He says he was fifty-fifty over whether the gaffer would choose to move to the Championship side.

But he reckons his dedication to the club, and his experience here over the past few years, helped him make the decision to remain.

The immediate task will now be to rebuild a squad which now lacks key players like Niall McGinn, Ryan Jack and Jonny Hayes.

But the Chairman says he and Derek share a long term goal of leaving Aberdeen in a much better position overall.
