David Cameron visited Aberdeen today - as a city region deal was signed, to provide half a billion pounds for regeneration.
That will improve infastructure over the next 10 years.
During his visit he announced that the UK Government would also be providing £20m funding for a second round of seismic surveys to open up new exploration opportunities in the UKCS.
Also an Oil Ambassador will be appointed to promote the North Sea across the world.
The industry continues to struggle with an oil price of around $30 a barrel.
Our reporter Hope Webb sat down with Mr Cameron - to ask whether the steps were enough to save the sector in crisis.
