LISTEN: 600 Children Without Winter Jackets In The North East
Our charity, Northsound's Cash For Kids, has recieved around 600 applications of support from families in the North East, unable to afford a winter jacket for their child.
Last year, thanks to donations from people in the North East, Cash For Kids were able to give out 500 new winter coats to children.
But the number of children needing support this winter has risen, and the charity now needs to raise ÂŁ30,000 to meet the demand.
Our reporter Hope Webb went to meet Amanda Pirie, from the Printfield Community Project.
She sees children without warm winter clothes every single day at her centre.
