Light up Santa stolen from Aberdeenshire village

Police in Ellon are appealing for witnesses after the theft of a light up Santa from Belhelvie Village.

He was taken sometime between 10pm on Sunday 5th December and 7am on Monday 6th December. The Santa is about 6 foot tall and 4 foot wide and the lights flash making Santa to appear as though he is waving.

PC Murray said: ‘It was part of a charity light display and it was made and donated by a local resident to the village. The theft has had a big impact on the village who are totally appalled and saddened by the incident. I would appeal if anyone has any information regarding the theft to call 101 or if you wish to remain anonymous then call the registered charity Crimestoppers on 0800555111’
