'Legal Highs Be Wise' Night in Aberdeen

Published 19th May 2015

Aberdeen's first legal highs awareness evening is taking place next week.

The event - called 'Legal Highs Be Wise' - is being held on Wednesday the 27th of May at Pittodrie from 7-9:30pm.

The event is for parents and will look at what legal highs or new psychoactive substances are, how to speak to young people about the dangers of them, and the legislation surrounding the drugs.

In the last few months Northsound News has uncovered a hidden epidemic of legal high abuse.

In April we carried out a survey that showed 1 in 3 Aberdonians have tried legal highs.

Now DA (Drugs Action) have put together a night where we can raise awareness into the dangers that surround these mysterious drugs.

The event is free and is also open to academy aged children if they are accompanied by an adult.

RGU Streetsports will be providing free football sessions for 10-16 year olds which will be running outside Pittodrie at the same time as the event also.
