Fridge full of leftover Burns night delights?

We love our haggis, neeps and tatties as much as the next person but what to do with your left overs?

The Kilted Chef, Craig Wilson from Eat on the Green has come up trumps with this tasty recipe to rival Boxing Days turkey sandwich.

It’s ready in five simple steps, in under 10 minutes and comes packed with even more burns thanks to the chilli!

Here’s what you’ll need to make our Red Hot Chilli Haggis Bites;

  • Left over Haggis, Neeps and Tatties - Fresh Coriander - Fresh Red Chillis - Sweet Chilli Sauce - Rape Seed Oil - Irn Bru

Step 1

Throw your left over haggis, neeps and tatties into a bowl. Chop the chilli and coriander and place into the bowl along with the haggis, neeps and tatties.

Mix everything together.

Step 2

Grab a small palm full and form into a patty. Mix together a small amount of flour and curry powder, roll the patty around in the flour and curry powder mix to coat all sides.

Heat a non-stick frying pan with a little rape seed oil.

Place the patty into the pan and cook for two minutes each side.

Step 3

Mix together rape seed oil, sweet chilli sauce and Irn Bru in a bowl to form the dressing for the salad. Two parts rape seed oil to one part sweet chilli sauce and Irn Bru.

Grab some salad leaves, we’ve used water cress and coriander but any light leaves will do. Place into a bowl and pour over some of your dressing. Toss the salad through with your fingers to coat.

Step 4

To serve; place some of your dressed salad on a plate, place a freshly cooked patty on top and drizzle over some of your salad dressing.

Step 5

Enjoy… and feel the burn!
