Latest update on Inchmarlo and Edenholme covid outbreaks

The Incident management team have provided an update for both carehome clusters.

The incident mangement team dealing with two Aberdeenshire Care home covid outbreaks have provided an update on both.

At Inchmarlo 107 cases have been detected and there have been 34 cases at Edenholme.

A spokesperson for the Inchmarlo Incident Management Team: “There are currently 107 detected cases of COVID-19 associated with the outbreak at Inchmarlo House Care Home. It remains closed to admissions and visiting. Work is going on from within the NHS and Health and Social Care Partnership to support the owners, staff and residents.”

A spokesperson for the home itself said: “We, and our residents, are very happy to have welcomed back almost all of our team at Inchmarlo House Care Home. With the continued support of the Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership we are working together to support each other as we heal from the impact of the outbreak.

“We extend our deepest sympathies to the families and friends of those residents whom we have lost. They are sorely missed by us all.

“We are extremely grateful to the Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership and we are fortunate that this assistance will continue as we move forward.”

A spokesperson for the Edenholme Incident Management Team said: “There are now 34 detected cases of COVID-19 associated with Edenholme Care Home. We continue to support the management and staff team at the home to manage the outbreak and ensure the care of residents within the home.”
