Oil firm KCA Deutag have announced that 69 North Sea jobs are at risk.

The positions are from their contract with EnQuest's Thistle and Heather platforms.

The firm have now entered a redundancy consultation period.

Earlier this year, they announed that 230 jobs in Aberdeen would be cut after a slowdown in North Sea drilling.

In a statement, the company said: "KCA Deutag is currently the drilling contractor on the Thistle and Heather platforms, which are operated by Enquest. Following the completion of EnQuest’s planned drilling programme on the Thistle platform, the drilling package is now being brought into maintenance mode in line with the Heather platform. As a result, KCA Deutag has begun consulting with its crew and will make every effort to redeploy them, should there be a reduction in the number of crew required."
