Aberdeen Community come together to fund raise in memory of local youngster

They've already smashed their goal as they look to fund defibrillators for kids clubs and schools in memory of 6-year-old Kacey Seivwright

The Community of Torry have come together to try and raise funds for defibrillators in memory of a local youngster.

Six-year-old Kacey Seivwright took unwell at an after school club last month.

The official cause of her death has not been made apparent, but a Go Fund Me page was set up to buy defibrillators for schools and kids clubs in the area.

The crowd-funding page says:

"On behalf of Raymond, Michelle and family we are looking to raise as much funds as possible to ensure all local kids clubs and schools have access to their own defibrillators."

It has already surpassed the £20,000 target, and at time of writing over £23,000 has been donated.

Yilmaz Snack bar, a food van in the area, are opening on Saturday with all profit made to be donated to the cause.

Owner Yilmaz Huseyin told Northsound News:

"Kacey Seivwright and family are close family friends and sadly on the 23rd of august she grew her angel wings.

"Her family set up a go fund me page to raise money to install Defibrillators in the local community and have smashed their target. So we want the word out for people to come to yilmaz snack bar harness road altens Aberdeen to raise As much money as possible to help boost that.

"All takings from the day will be donated to the go fund me to save so many more lives and her memory can live on.

"We helped all through COVID giving out free meals to those in need and helping families with their kids not getting any free meals so with this being so close to home we would love for you to spread the word and get everyone to join us on Saturday"
