Thousands of North East BP workers are waiting to hear if their jobs are safe. There's a staff briefing in Aberdeen at 10am this morning - and we're expecting redundancies to be announced. They've got 3500 staff here, as well as contractors. The company's restructuring its North Sea operations as the price of oil tumbles.

Just yesterday the First Minister announced a Energy Jobs Taskforce to help struggling oil companies and workers facing redundancy.

It comes as Aberdeen City Council announces a date for their Oil Summit.

It's being held at the AECC on the 2nd of February.

Nicola Sturgeon has confirmed her attendence - as has Scottish Secretary Alistair Carmichael.
