Investigation after smoke detected on North Sea platform

A North Sea oil and gas firm is investigating after smoke was detected on one of its platforms.

The incident was reported on Monday on Apache’s Beryl Bravo, around 180 miles east of Aberdeen.

The gas turbine involved was shut down as a precaution and all crew were called to muster.

An investigation is now underway to determine the cause of the smoke from the turbine.

A spokesman for Apache North Sea said, “The safety and wellbeing of everyone on board is Apache’s priority.
