An Inverurie care home owner is pleading with the Scottish Government to make staff testing available.

Badenscoth House has three suspected cases of Covid-19 amongst carers - with a further nine off work due to underlying health concerns.

Five residents are also showing symptoms - Judith Munro says they can't wait any longer...

"We need testing now. As soon as possible is actually not soon enough, as far as I can see," she said.

"The impact would be so positive. It would impact on the shortage of staff.

"We wouldn't be working in the dark. As it is, the suspected covid does cause alarm and it's unnecessary."

During the daily Scottish Government briefing Nicola Sturgeon said building the capacity for staff testing is a priority.

"I've been very open and candid about the priorities we set for testing and the need to build up the capacity for testing in order that we can test for more workers.

"There has been a focus in terms of key worker testing on the NHS, to try and get people back to work.

"But as we build up the capacity we'll be able to build up more capacity."
