Injured Oil Worker Airlifted From North Sea Platform

An oil worker has been evacuated from a North Sea platform after becoming injured on-board.

The Shetland Coastguard was alerted to the emergency at around 10:30am, after a doctor onboard the Brent Charlie platform advised an evacuation after examining the worker.

The crew member was then taken by helicopter to Sumburgh - where he was then transferred by ambulance to Gilbert Bain hospital.
