The husband of a woman missing in Aberdeen has spoken out as the search to find his wife enters a fifth day.

Nusrat Jahan, 34, was reported missing from her home in the Duff Street area of the city on Thursday July 27th 2017 after a friend alerted Police to concerns for her well-being.

Extensive enquiries and searches have been ongoing to track her last movements and establish her current whereabouts, including the use of resources on land, sea and air.

The last confirmed sighting of Nusrat is at Marischal College at around 4:00pm on Thursday.

Searches will continue to the south of the city from Aberdeen beach, where she had suggested she was heading to on the evening she went missing.

Officers leading the search will focus in particular on the coastline at Cove to Torry Battery to ensure all potential locations she may have travelled to have been searched.

Her partner Colin Dow has also released a statement asking anyone with information that could assist with the search to get in touch as soon as possible.

He said: "It has been five days since Nusrat went missing and with each day that passes we are finding it increasingly difficult to come to terms with the fact no one has seen or heard from her since.

"We are extremely grateful for the support Police have had so far from the public by providing information and potential sightings of Nusrat. The sad reality though is that she is still missing and we don't know where she is.

"To anyone else who can help us understand what has happened to Nusrat, I would ask you to get in touch with Police as soon as possible and tell them what you know."
