Hunt For Man Who Sexually Assaulted Young Woman On Train From Dyce

The British Transport Police are appealing for information after a young women was sexually assaulted on a train from Dyce.

It happened on the Dyce to Edinburgh Waverly Service last Thurday.

The 20-year-old woman was assaulted by a man in his 50's, at some point between Leuchars and Edinburgh Haymarket at 4:40pm.

The man responsible is described as being about 5 ft 10 in height with short grey hair. He was wearing a round necked light blue t-shirt, with a brown long sleeved top underneath it and brown trousers. He also had a red tattoo on his right hand.

He also spoke with a Tyneside accent and it is believed he was travelling on to Newcastle.

Detective Constable David McAlister, the BTP officer in charge of the enquiry, is appealing for anyone who was on the busy train and witnessed the sexual assault to contact him.

He said: “I am asking anyone who has information which can help identify the man responsible to contact BTP as a matter of urgency.”

CCTV from on the train and at stations will be reviewed in an attempt to identify the man responsible.
