WATCH: Hopes to solve historic murder of Aberdeen taxi driver
We've been speaking to George Murdoch's Nephew, and Detective Inspector James Callander, as they plea for the public's help
Police and the family of Aberdeen taxi driver George Murdoch hope almost 40 years on the public can help solve his murder.
The 58-year-old was ambushed whilst taking a fare from the city centre to Culter back on September 29th 1983.
He was attacked on Pitfodels Station Road, just on the outskirts of the city near the Deeside Railway Line.
Police found some 'cheese wire' which they believe was the murder weapon.
And the Aberdeen Journals have doubled the previous £10,000 reward for information that leads to confirming the identity of the killer, initially offered by the family.
A Facebook page has also been created to provide information on what is known about the murder, which is hoped will help spark memories.
