How We Helped Aberdeen Family Say Thank-You To Couple Who Saved Them From Car Crash

Published 6th Jul 2015

Northsound News have helped an Aberdeen family say thank-you to a couple who stopped to help them, after they were involved in a car crash over the weekend.

Gavin and Hayley Brownley, were travelling along South Deeside Road with their two children, when they hit a patch of water, lost control of the car, and hit a telephone.

Straight after the accident, a couple, with their own children, stopped to help the family. They got the two kids out the back, and looked after the family until an ambulance got to the scene.

But in amongst all the confusion, Gavin and Hayley forgot to get the names of the couple.

Our reporter Hope Webb spoke to Gavin about the experience:

So, that's where we come in.

They asked for our help, to try and trace the couple.

So on our 12pm news, we launched our appeal to find them, and at around 12:10pm, we got a phone call from a man named Brett.

He said he had heard the story on the radio at his work, and knew it was him we were looking for.

Our reporter Hope Webb spoke to him:

Since we got in touch with Brett, Hayley and Gavin have been able to speak to him, to fully thank him and his wife for looking after them, when they needed it the most.
