Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has challenged the Red Army to belt out "The Northern Lights of Old Aberdeen" ahead of tonight's Europa League tie.

The Dons take on Apollon Limassol looking to reach the fourth round of qualifying.

They're looking to go one better after falling at this hurdle in the last three seasons.

The Reds came close to progressing last year against NK Maribor, losing out after a freak goal in Slovenia.

After turning down the advances of Sunderland FC and committing to a new contract earlier this month, McInnes is set on bringing about positive change at Aberdeen.

When asked about Pittodrie heading towards a sell out, McInnes said: "I think it's important for the players that when they run out and see the stands filled with a noisy Aberdeen crowd getting behind the team, it definitely helps.

"There's been a great response from the supporters, it just shows you how important European football is to them and the club and hopefully the performance shows how important it is to me and the players."
