Handbag stolen in Maryculter

A 21-year-old woman’s had her handbag stolen in Maryculter.

The incident happened at around 11.45am on Wednesday, 22 August, while the woman was walking through the wooded area near to the disused ‘Old Mill Inn’ on the B9077 south Deeside Road.

The bag taken is described as a medium-sized black leather handbag. It contained personal items.

Enquiry Officer PC Morgan Reid said: “We are appealing to anyone who would have been in the area around that time on Wednesday and may have seen anything suspicious to contact us on 101 using reference number CF0205960818.

"The wooded area is known as Crynoch Burn and there is a temporary traffic light system in place nearby where a number of vehicles are stopped at a time. We would urge anyone who was in the area or any motorists passing who may have seen anything that could assist us to get in touch.

"In particular officers would like to speak to a person who was seen in the area at the time. They are described as around 5ft 8ins tall and were wearing black trousers and a black baseball cap.

"Police can be contacted on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to remain anonymous."
