Gun Stolen From Aberdeen Home

Police Scotland have appealed for witnesses after a shotgun was stolen from a property in Aberdeen.

The house, in the Anguston area of Peterculter was broken in to between 7am and 6:30pm on Monday, October 5.

Ammunition was also stolen, but Police cannot confirm the amount taken.

Detective Inspector Stephen Beattie said: "Enquiries are at an early stage and we would urge anyone who may have seen anything unusual or suspicious in the area over the course of the last few days to contact us.

"We would also ask members of the public to remain vigilant and report anything that concerns them.

"In addition we would urge householders to review their home security and do all that they can to prevent themselves from becoming victims of opportunistic thieves. This includes keeping doors and windows locked and ensuring that an alarm is set. Anyone who is offered items for sale that they have any concerns about should contact us on 101 on 0800 555 111."
