NHS Grampian have asked the public to treat vaccination staff with kindness and respect after a "very small" number of incidents where staff were verbally abused.

It's a grey spot as the health board also announce that over 50% of Grampian's population have received a booster dose.

Yesterday (December 16th) was the busiest day for the health board since the vaccine programme began.

7,838 jabs were given out, the vast majority of those boosters.

But queues have resulted in some issues for staff who have been verbally abused.

"There have been a very small number of incidents where citizens have been verbally abusive towards clinic staff." Said a post from NHS Grampian.

"We know this is a very worrying time. We also know standing in a long queue is no-one's idea of a good time.

"Neither of those things excuse this kind of behaviour. Please treat vaccine teams with kindness and respect and you will get the same in return."

Booster jabs are now available to book for all of those over 18 in Scotland.

There are also various walk-in opportunities available across Grampian.
