Celtic and Rangers look set to welcome full capacity crowds back to Celtic Park and Ibrox.

Scottish football clubs will need to apply to their local authority for permission for crowds over 5,000 at games from Monday.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced on Tuesday the country will be moving 'beyond Level 0' in coronavirus restrictions next week.

Despite capacity crowds not being automatically given the green light by the Scottish Government, a Glasgow City Council source has told Clyde News they're 'unlikely' to say no to full grounds.

Glasgow City Council granted Rangers permission to have around 23,000 supporters at Ibrox for their Premiership opener against Livingston last Saturday.

They are also allowing Celtic to host 24,500 fans at their home game against Dundee this weekend.

Steven Gerrard's side could see a capacity crowd in for their Champions League third round qualifier against Malmo on August 10.

While the Hoops' could have their first full stadium in over a year when they host Czech side Jablonec in a Europa League qualifier on August 12.

It also means the Old Firm clash at the end of this month at Ibrox could be played in front of a capacity crowd as well.
