Watch : Paul Lawrie revives Scottish Challenge
It's underway at Newmachar
The Scottish Challenge has a great tradition of providing a pathway for golfers to play at the top level. Over the years, Scots like Bob MacIntyre, David Law and Grant Forrest have all gone on to win events on the main DP World Tour.
There's also America's Brooks Koepka, who triumphed in the event in 2013 and has since won 2 US Open titles and 2 PGA Championships.
But the Scottish Challenge disappeared after 2018. Now Aberdeen's Paul Lawrie and his 5 Star Sports Agency have brought it back, starting with the 2022 tournament which is being staged at Newmachar until Sunday.
