Five people are expected to appear in court later today after a drugs crackdown in the north east.

Class A substances worth around £1,200 were seized on Aberdeen's Park Street.

Meanwhile Class B drugs were found in a property in Stonehaven.

Three men aged 18, 26 and 44 along with a 24-year-old woman - are expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today.

A 29-year-old man will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

PC Ashleigh Connon, who led the operation, said: "Thank you to the members of the public who provided information."

She added: "As an intelligence-led organisation, local officers depend on members of the public to come forward and provide information to tackle drug misuse - it is crucial we know the 'who, what, why, when, where and how' in relation to people who are living or committing crime in our communities.

"Details like names, nicknames, addresses, descriptions and vehicle registration numbers can all be very helpful."
