Fire started at block of flats in Aberdeen

Detectives in Aberdeen are appealing for witnesses after a fire was started deliberately at a block of flats.

The alarm was raised at 1:50am on Sunday morning on Ash-Hill Drive near Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

The fire was extinguished by firefighters and a 66-year-old woman was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to be checked over.

Detective Constable Keith Morrison said: “We have been carrying out enquiries in the area and I would urge anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area or who has any information that will help our ongoing investigation to contact 101 with reference number 0411 of 20 March. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
