Fire at secondary school in Aberdeen thought to be deliberate
Police are treating a fire at a secondary school in Aberdeen as deliberate.
Emergency services were called to Harlaw Academy at around 1.30am after a member of the public spotted smoke and heard the school's fire alarm.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service found damaged windows and several small fires after searching the building.
No-one was inside the school at the time and the premises have been declared safe.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: 'The incident is currently being treated as wilful fireraising and a police and fire investigation is ongoing at this time, the results of which will be reported to the procurator fiscal.'
The school sustained minor smoke and fire damage but police said the full extent is yet to be assessed.
