Final section of AWPR to open next week
The final section of the AWPR will open next week.
Transport Scotland's confirmed safety checks on the Don River Crossing have been completed, it was the section holding up the ÂŁ745million bypass.
A spokesperson said:
“Productive discussions have continued between Aberdeen Roads Limited (ARL) and Transport Scotland since the meeting with the Cabinet Secretary on February 6. All necessary technical assurances have been received.
“Subject to operational planning, we expect the final section of the AWPR to open next week. An update will be provided when final arrangements are confirmed.”
There has been ongoing dispute between ARL and Transport Scotland over the future maintenance of the bypass. It’s not clear if those issues have been ironed out.
We don't know exactly when it’s going to open, but roads bosses say they'll let us know early next week.
