Fifty jobs are to go at an Aberdeen-based cabling firm. Xtreme business solutions has called in administrators, with all staff being made redundant – effective immediately.

Administrators say the company's now ceased trading - with its collapse blamed on rising costs and falling margins.

Commenting, joint administrator Iain Fraser, partner with FRP Advisory LLP said: “Xtreme Business Solutions was an established, respected operator in the specialist cabling sector. Unfortunately, the financial issues facing the company could not be resolved and administration was the only option. We will work closely with all agencies such as the Redundancy Payments Office to ensure employees receive every support and assistance at this very difficult time”.

31 staff here have lost their jobs, while 19 are out of work at the firm's base in Fife.
