Figures obtained through a Freedom Of Information Request have revealed the number of under 18s in Scotland being convicted for drug offences is on the rise.

The stats indicate a year-on-year rise since 2012.

More than 100 youngsters were convicted under the Misuse Drugs Act in the last year alone.

We have spoken to a man who is now in his late 20s with a heart condition after using drugs since he was 14 years old.

He told us about the impact it has had on his life.

We have changed his voice to keep him anonymous.

Information about the substance misuse can be found on the Police Scotland website.
