We've spoken with two of the boys affected by last year's tragedy at Aberdeen beach
Last updated 14th Apr 2017
We've been catching up with Samuel and Jordan Walker, the surviving sons from the Aberdeen beach tragedy last year.
Julie Walker, 37, and Lucas, 6, lost their lives when they were pulled from the water in August 2016.
It was an incident that shocked the North East of Scotland, as well as families all around Scotland.
The Walker family story has made its way down to London, where it was picked up by Rob and Paul Forkan.
They are two of the brothers who survived the Boxing Day Tsunami in Sri Lanka, 2004.
The Forkan's lost their mother and father that day, in similar circumstances to what happened at Aberdeen beach last year.
Samuel and Jordan have had a visit from the London based brothers, who shared their experiences of grief and coping with life after losing loved ones.
"To try and get on with things, it is hard" - Jordan Walker
Our reporter Phil McDonald spoke exclusively with Samuel and Jordan about how they are getting on following the events of August 20th 2016.
Jordan, 17, said: "Since the accident last year, it's been a big step forward.
"Having that feeling that your mum and brother is gone, but they are still inside you, it does give you a boost.
"To try and get on with things, it is hard.
"Me and Sam, we are a duo! Thing One and Thing Two.
"Brotherly love is always the strongest thing."
Samuel, 14, added: "Obviously I've had my brother and a lot of my friends and family help my a lot to fight through and get the thoughts of it out of my head.
"I'm feeling a lot better now.
"You've always got to have that one person that can help you through your feelings, I've had my brother."
