Emergency services are dealing with reports of a man in a car which has gone into the water, just off the A98.

It's at the Burn of Boyne, Tillynaught - and follows a concerned call which officers received shortly after 4pm.

Reports came through that the vehicle was located shortly after 6pm with helicopter crews and the Macduff lifeboat launched. The car is understood to be fully submerged in the water.

Searches are still ongoing to trace the man who was reported to have been inside the vehicle and efforts are ongoing to safety recover the vehicle from the water.

Earlier today there was particularly bad weather in the North East, with the A98 badly affected by rain. Moray Council say subsidence at Portknockie harbour will require assessment, such was the deluge across the area.
