An elderly pedestrian who died in a crash on a busy North East road has been named by police.

An elderly pedestrian who died in a crash on a busy North East road has been named by police.

Ernest Tough, 83, died at the scene of the collision on the A96 at Colpy, Aberdeenshire, last week.

The crash happened at around 5.25pm on January 20.

Police said the incident involved two cars, a white Vauxhall Astra and a red Renault Megane. The cars' occupants were uninjured.

A force spokesman said: Anyone who may have witnessed the collision and has not yet come forward is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.''
