Eight Charged With Drink Driving In Aberdeenshire Over the Weekend
Eight men have been charged with failing to provide a breath specimen and drink driving in Aberdeenshire over the weekend.
Two men aged 36 and 26 are to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today, after failing to provide a breath specimen, in the Blackburn and Kintore areas on Sunday, 14 June, 2015.
A further six men aged between 19 and 25 were also charged in relation to drink driving in the Laurencekirk, Peterhead, Banff, Buckie and Fraserburgh areas between Saturday, 13 June and Sunday, 14 June.
The men are anticipated to appear at court at a later date.
Roads Policing Inspector Ewan Innes said: "Our message is clear - don't drink and drive. It is disappointing that so many motorists have been stopped for drink driving in a relatively short period of time.
"I would urge motorists to again think ahead if they are out for an evening and having a drink that they plan their journey home. Arrange for a designated driver, take public transport or book a taxi. It is not worth risking it."
