Hopes for Friday night football at Dyce FC, despite being 'a metre and a half' underwater
A storm at the weekend left Ian Mair Park flooded
It's hoped that football will return to Ian Mair Park, the home of Dyce FC, less than a week after the pitch was a metre and a half underwater.
Chairman Syd Birnie said: "Believe or not we are very hopefully that, with a fair wind we may well be there, on Friday night.
"But like everything, it (the pitch) is still under some water so we can't see just how bad it is.
"We will do our absolute upmost to get that game on. We get much more expenditure into the club, more income (on a Friday), so it's a big one for us.
"We probably had it, at worst, a metre-and-a-half of water on the pitch.
"It does seem to be very much the pitch and the surrounding security fence.
"We had an issue with that last time and spent tens-of-thousands of pounds replacing the fence.
"Fingers crossed that it's fine and just a bit of a clean up is needed."
The dugouts stood up to the floods in 2016
Chairman Syd Birnie says about a metre and a half of water was on top of the Ian Mair Park pitch
It's not only footballers who grace the pitch
Tens of thousands of pounds were spent on the fence just six years ago
The surrounding fields were also flooded
Only half of the goals are visible
Floods also made a mess of the outskirts of the pitch
A tough day for waste workers too
It's hoped that damage to fencing won't be as costly as it was in 2016
