Dyce car fires treated as deliberate
Firefighters rushed to Overton Green just before 5:00am
Police are treating two Aberdeen car fires as wilful fire-raising.
Emergency services were alerted at around 4:55am in the Overton Green area of Dyce.
The cars - a Vauxhall Corsa and Renault Megane - were well alight but quickly extinguished by crews on arrival.
Detective Constable Christopher Wilson said: "Following initial enquiries we are now treating these as wilful fire-raisings and I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to please get in touch.
"I don’t think I need to stress the potential devastating consequences of setting a fire on purpose, especially in a residential area while innocent members of the public are in bed. It won't be tolerated.
"Anyone with information can contact Police on 101 quoting ref number 0363 of September 21 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous."
