Dumper truck and tools stolen from Aberdeenshire farms
Thieves have targeted rural properties in Turriff and Fyvie in the last 48 hours
Thousands of pounds of construction equipment has been stolen from Aberdeenshire farms in the last 48 hours.
Police are investigating the two thefts from rural properties in Turriff and Fyvie including the disappearance of a dumper truck and trailer last night.
At around 1.00am this morning, Wednesday 13th September 2017 a large dumper truck and trailer were stolen from a rural property in the Turriff area near to the Colp Road.
The Benford Terex dumper truck and I-for Williams trailer have a combined value of a mid four figure sum of money.
Also between 8.00pm on Monday 11 September and 8.00am on Tuesday 12th September a quantity of tools valued at a low four figure sum were taken from a secure outbuilding on a farm in Fyvie.
Detective Constable Richard Cooper of the CID Proactive team based at Fraserburgh said: "Thieves have been out in Aberdeenshire this week and so I want to warn home and business owners to be especially vigilant in terms of securing their property and vehicles.
"If anyone recalls seeing the Benford truck, trailer or indeed if anyone has been offered industrial tools for sale in the last day or so I would ask them to get in touch."
