Drugs worth £2000 recovered in the North East

Heroin and cocaine with a street value of £2000 has been recovered in the Peterhead and Fraserburgh areas.

Heroin and cocaine with a street value of £2000 has been recovered in the Peterhead and Fraserburgh areas.

Following an intelligence led operation involving the Community Policing Team and the Divisional Alcohol and Violence Reduction Unit the recoveries were made in Peterhead and on the A90 near Fraserburgh on Thursday, 29th September.

A low three-figure sum of cash was also recovered.

As a result five men aged 54, 33, 32, 24 and 21 have been charged and are anticipated to appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court today, Friday, 30th September.

Sergeant Graeme Cupples said: "This was a joint operation involving officers from the Community Policing Team as well as the Divisional Alcohol and Violence Reduction Unit. We are committed to tackling drugs in our communities and will continue to proactively target those who wish to spread misery by dealing drugs.
