Driver fighting for life after crash with single decker bus in Aberdeen

It happened on the A92 between the roundabout junctions of Fairview Road and Gordon Brae.

A man is fighting for life after being involved in a serious road crash in Aberdeen yesterday evening.

The incident involving a car and a single decker bus, happened around 7.40pm on Sunday on the A92 between the roundabout junctions of Fairview Road and Gordon Brae.

Emergency services attended and the 37-year-old driver was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where his condition is described as critical.

The 42-year-old female passenger of the car was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment and later discharged. A male passenger from the bus was treated at the scene.

The road was closed for around eight hours to allow investigations to be carried out and re-opened around 3.30am on Monday

Sergeant Sarah Ritchie of the North East Road Policing said “Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or who has any information to contact us.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have dash-cam footage which could assist to get in touch.”
