Do you recognise this flag?

Aberdeen's Lord Provost Barney Crockett has been sorting out items in the Town House loft over lockdown.

The building stores many flags, gifted when representatives of the city traveled to foreign countries throughout the years.

"The fascinating thing is a number of the flags are from very small countries that we have visited - islands in the Pacific and also some very old flags" Said the Lord Provost.

"During the lockdown I've been looking through the many flags that we've got, just at the top of the town house, and we've got some that date back a very long time."

"This particular one I've washed it, I've ironed it, and I just wondered what is was."

Get in touch if you can help the Lord Provost identify the flag.

Northsound listener Joshua Jeal might have already sourced the origins of the flag though.

He got in touch to say he thinks it's a version of the United Tribes flag from between 1835 and 1840, do you agree?
