The man's brother has appealed online to find those responsible for the attack, which they believe was a result of the wheelchair bound victim wearing a Dundee United hat.

A Dundee man has appealed on Twitter for witnesses to come forward, after his disabled brother was apparently hit with coins and paintballs on Aberdeen's Union Street.

Grant told us that he believes his Brother John, who has cerebral Palsy, was targeted because he was wearing a Dundee United hat.

The incident happened somewhere between McDonalds and the former BHS store on Union Street.

Grant said:

"He was up in Aberdeen with his best friend.

"His friend is able bodied so he pushes him around, they do a lot of travelling, but with restrictions over the past year and a half they've been shielding.

"My Brother heard someone mentioning Dundee United, and next thing he had coins thrown at him, and they were followed by yellow paint balls."

He went on to explain that John and his wheelchair were covered in yellow paint, and John had to go to another shop to buy a change of clothes.

"I just don't know why we've got people in this society that can act like this" continued Grant.

"I would ask one thing if I ever found out who done it, to spend five minutes with my brother and find out what a nice, nice guy he is."
