Differences in covid measures in Glasgow V Aberdeen is example of 'Central Belt bias' says ACC Co-Leader
Douglas Lumsden says the rules implemented in Glasgow are "Rather unfair and a bit confusing" when compared to Aberdeen's hospitality shutdown and travel restrictions.
Aberdeen City Council Co-Leader Douglas Lumsden has branded the covid measures in Glasgow, in comparison to the reaction to a spike in Aberdeen a few weeks ago, "rather unfair".
Aberdeen was forced to shut all hospitality businesses and implement travel restrictions. Glasgow has been told they must not visit friends and family in their home, unless under specific reasons - but they can still visit the pub.
Lumsden, who leads the Conservatives in Aberdeen City said:
"It does seem rather unfair and a bit confusing to be honest"
"I think we've seen for a long time a huge central belt bias from the SNP government, and I think this just adds to the narrative. I said at the time it felt like we were being punished in Aberdeen, it feels even more like that now."

Meanwhile, the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon says it's all down to how many cases originated in pubs as to why Aberdeen had to shut theirs down, and Glasgow - as of yet - has not.
