Almost a year since the death of Aberdeenshire man Brian McKandie, detectives are continuing their murder investigation to try and determine how he died.
Officers have been re-visiting customers and acquaintances of the 67-year-old in Rothienorman and beyond.
His body was discovered at Fairview Cottages, Bandenscoth, in March last year.
Detective Chief Inspector Iain Smith said: "We continue to actively investigate the death of Mr McKandie with extensive inquiries being carried out not just in the Rothienorman area, but across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. Customers and acquaintances are being re-visited, along with exploring other potential lines of inquiry.
"Next month will mark one year since Brian was found within his home, which means a whole year his family have had to deal with the fact he was taken from them in the most tragic of circumstances. They have lost a much-loved member of their family and just want to know why.
"As always, I would appeal to anyone with information no matter how insignificant you think it might be to contact us. You may think it will make no difference, but I would respectfully ask you to let us make that decision. Please contact 101 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555111."
