Derek Mcinnes confirms Rangers contact about Scott Wright

The winger could sign a pre-contract to move to Ibrox in the summer, and Mcinnes hasn't ruled out the club sanctioning a move before then - if the price is right.

Derek Mcinnes has confirmed he has spoken with Steven Gerrard about Ranger's interest in Scott Wright.

The Pittodrie youth product is out of contract in the Summer and indicated to the club he'd like to explore his options.

Mcinnes has confirmed conversation have been ongoing between Aberdeen and the league leaders.

He said:

"There's been a conversation at board level."

"I spoke to Steven yesterday, he called me to say that they would have an interest in Scott on a pre-contract, but they wanted to do things properly, and that's not always the case when it gets to players running out of contract."

"I've resigned myself that Scott was leaving anyway."

"We made our first offer to Scott in October, and we've never really had anything back encouragement-wise."

"I think there's more than just one club interested"

"If we receive a good offer, it's up to the board to weigh it up - from Rangers or whoever"
